»PLF propel punk's DIY idealism into a new era …« (John Twells - Unsound Festival)
In recent years, PLF — the trio of sound artist/producer Peter Kutin, drummer Lukas König and vocalist Elvin Brandhi — has earned a reputation as an impressive and extraordinary live act, with acclaimed performances at Unsound, AvantArt, Sonic Acts, Kilbi, Elevate, UH, and many more.
In autumn 2025, the band will release their third LP »SKREAMERZ« — a continuation of their singular fusion of post-punkand post-digital aesthetics.
PLF has the tendency to push their individual sounds to a threshold where they boarder on the scream: an immediate unfiltered sonic expression, unmediated by logic, language or conventional harmonic structures.
With Kutin performing on self-built light-feedback machines that drive an array of synths, König weaving intense rhythmic patterns through his percussive-electronic craft, and Brandhi’s feral, visceral vocalizations cutting through it all, PLF produces harsh music that is as raw as it is pure - direct in it’s gestures and uncompromising in it’s energy.
In a time defined by fragmentation — between gigs, family commitments, digital lives & constant travelling — PLF navigate the realities of a shifting cultural economy, embrace instability as part of their artistic identites.
What is the concept of a ‘band’ these days ?
While PLF’s ethos is rooted in Free Jazz and DIY culture, their music ultimately exists in their own category as a stroboscopic improvisation: Wild at heart and weird on top. Those who experienced PLF live know about the full force of their performances — a relentless interplay of sound and light, built entirely from scratch, with no safety nets or backing tracks - making each concert an unrepeatable event.
