Known for their solo projects (Rent, Asfast, Karolina Preuschl, Gischt) in the Viennese experimental electronic scene, Katrin Euller, Leon Leder, Karolina Preuschl and Ursula Winterauer have been active for several years and together have founded a band format whose strength is fuelled by their different influences and independent approaches.
EAERES is the soundtrack to a gloomy indictment of relentless dominance. EAERES sounds harsh, vehemently impetuous. The sound symbolises the struggle of a crushed existence for the dismantling of a monolith. The restless being, trapped in the matrix, searches for a way out of this centrifuge of power, which repeatedly slows down for a brief moment before breaking loose again and mutating into an ominous whirring.
The centrifuge resembles a labyrinth of unequal conditions, the beginning of which, however, seems to follow an orderly course. The drums and the distorted bass set the lines, shortly afterwards the noise of the synth kicks in and the agonising, guttural vocals can be heard, both of which carry the aesthetics of the sound. The structured and almost herbaceous song parts of the newly founded doom metal band EAERES soon fall apart and dissolve into an electrifying noise feast that unfolds into disharmonious dimensions. This is followed by a polyphonic mantra that eludes any rhythm, which builds up and resounds as a mechanical whipping. The desperate creature raises its voice in loud protest, accompanied by the beating, it wants to drive time forward in order to find a redeeming way out. But time cannot be shaken off, neither the imminent nor the past. In a catharsic invocation of spirits, the figure invokes its ancestors, the energy discharges and flows into shimmering, almost conciliatory surfaces.
